- Reduces harmful emissions
- Increases exhaust flow compared to original factory converter
- Increased exhaust flow allows your engine to make more power
- Exact replacement with little or no fabrication or modifications required
- Ribbed body to minimize expansion and distortion, holding the ceramic catalyst in proper alignment
- Strongest and smoothest flowing inlet and outlet joint of any manufacturer
- Each inlet tailored to the size of the converter body, for maximum flow
- Monolithic honeycomb catalyst designed for maximum flow
- Converter body manufactured from heavy-duty stainless steel
- Seam welded for a strong, tight bond
- Aluminized steel or stainless steel ribbed heat shield
- On vehicles registered outside California, the converter is warranted against construction defects for 5 years and against emissions failure for 25,00 miles
- On vehicles registered within California, the converter is warranted against construction or emissions check failure for 5 years or 50,000 miles
- Proudly made in the USA
When your catalytic converter requires replacement, you can install a factory-like unit that will let you pass a smog check, or you can install a Magnaflow converter that will pass the smog check and increase exhaust flow. If you want to be legal and get a performance increase, the choice is clear. Magnaflow is a performance exhaust system manufacturer, so they know all the tricks to increase exhaust flow for more power. They’ve also been producing catalytic converters for 30 years, so they’ve learned a thing or two along the way. All the exhaust flow knowledge they’ve accumulated has been packed into the design of this Direct Fit OBD II Catalytic Converter. The heart of the Magnaflow converter is the monolithic ceramic honeycomb catalyst, which is specially designed for maximum exhaust flow and surface area. Magnaflow carefully controls the application of the precious metal catalyst to the honeycomb surface to prevent flow restriction or an emissions test failure. All Magnaflow converters have a ½” lap joint where the neck meets the body, and the neck is formed so it doesn’t extend into the converter body where it could hamper exhaust flow. As a result, the Magnaflow converter has a smoother flowing inlet/outlet joint than any other manufacturer. Magnaflow also carefully matches the size of the inlet to the converter body, because putting a larger neck on a smaller body would reduce airflow.Besides incorporating features that increase exhaust flow for better performance, Magnaflow also builds their converters to last. The converter body is manufactured from heavy-duty stainless steel for maximum durability. All converters are seam welded close to the converter body for a strong, tight bond, not along the edge, which would allow the converter to expand and let the catalyst move around. And the aluminized steel or stainless steel heat shield creates a rigid wall of protection against heat and adds to the structural stability of the converter.
The Direct Fit Pre-OBD II Catalytic Converter is an exact replacement for your stock converter, with an interface at either end that will allow it to be bolted into the exhaust system. No fabrication or modifications are usually required. It replaces 2-way, 3-way, or 3-way with air injection converters. Two-way converters oxidize harmful Hydrocarbons (HC) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) along with secondary oxygen into water (H2O) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Along with the previously detailed conversion, a 3-way converter also reduces oxides of nitrogen (NOx) into Nitrogen (N2). The 3-way with air injection converter operates the same as a 3-way converter but with the addition of air pumped into the converter to improve the oxidation capabilities. On vehicles registered outside the state of California, Magnaflow warrants the Direct Fit Pre-OBD II Catalytic Converter to be free of manufacturer’s defects for a period of 5 years and emissions failure for 25,000 miles. Direct Fit Pre-OBD II Catalytic Converters on vehicles registered in California carry a 5 year, 50,000 mile warranty against manufacturer’s defects and emissions failure.Note: Always consult emissions regulations before replacing a catalytic converter.
